A console table originating from a single stunning board of native yew, a board I found by chance on a wood hunt for something else in 1999. The yew displays wonderful variety in the grain with lovely contour figure almost resembling an oil painting in places, small knots, bark inclusions, ripple, and a hint of sapwood all add to the fascination.
brown oak drawer fronts, sycamore dovetailed drawers, cedar of lebanon drawer bottoms and cold cast bronze detailing.
The table itself is joined with secret mitre dovetails, reputedly amongst the most difficult joints to cut successfully.
Perhaps one of my favourite pieces
